Day 19: Baby It's Cold Outside !

Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. My original Day 19 blog can be found here. The day started off with no heat so I had to take another vacation day. Turns out the air intake for the boiler was clogged with snow and ice. I was able to fix it myself and get the boiler restarted, so I was proud of that. I don't have to worry about that anymore as the guy who's worked on my boiler the last couple of times said the intake pipe was too small and he cut it off inside the basement. So the boiler draws air from inside the basement and will never clog. Considering all the snow we've had this year, I'm glad for that !

My phone said it was 2 degrees when I woke up shortly after 9 am but the outdoor thermometer read 14. In spite of that it was 61 upstairs. The dining room was at 65 and the laundry room was at 58. Pretty normal temps when it's this cold outside. I put the space heater on in the living room for Minnie and within an hour or so the dining room was reading 68. I did not use the kitchen faucet until after 11 am and the water was fine. At that time the outdoor thermometer read 30 but the sun might have had something to do with that, as my phone says it's only 10. All that matters to me is my water is fine and my heat is working as expected. I am SO grateful for that ! I do worry about what February might bring, as that tends to bring the coldest temps. Days and days of below zero temps would be very stressful for me AND for my pipes and boiler ! As long as I have power I will be warm as I have 3 space heaters and an electric blanket, but who needs that anxiety !

Breakfast was 160 calorie waffles with sugar free syrup and an 80 calorie yogurt.

I mentioned that I've started playing slot apps again and this morning showed me yet again why they are such a trap. The first couple days they give you tons of coins and let you win. Then you're on your own. After maybe an hour today all 3 apps had used up all available coins and I could barely get a bonus or big win. They want you to buy coins and I will NEVER do that. They suck you in with coin eating tournaments and raising the minimum bet. One app has a minimum bet of 7.5M and only provides enough free coins for 5 or 6 spins. It was called Jackpot Party slots .. and I say "was" as it's the first one I uninstalled ! When you are locked into minimum bets that high you end up in an endless quest to build up coins. That takes the fun out of the game and I'm not going to fall back into that. There are thousands and thousands of slot apps out there so I will just keep cycling through them. I reinstalled ClubBillion, which is one I used to play. I'll play it until it becomes a chore. Once I did that I remembered why I uninstalled it. The ads became unbearable. I will give it a shot since it saved all my progress and I have over 42B coins sitting there. The games WERE fun but as I said, the ads made the game unplayable.

Ugh. Last time I bought yogurt, Walmart did not have the Light 'n Fit strawberry flavor so I bought the Great Value version. OMG. The artificial flavor is horrendous. I will eat the remaining 3 cups, but I will NEVER buy it again.
