Day 23 & 24: Hello Sunshine !

 

Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. My original Day 23 blog can be found here and day 24 can be found here. Another 2 days of BS content. I don't know, maybe I'm just jealous of the positive attitude I had back then. I read these old blogs and feel like it's all BS. Maybe *I* am the problem ?!?!?! Being stuck in the house because of the cold and snow is definitely NOT helping !

I didn't write yesterday because I spent all morning playing slot games and watching YouTube. Then, Barb texted me just before 2 pm to ask if I wanted to go to Lowville with them for chicken & biscuits. I jumped at the chance and I'm so glad I was dressed and had already combed out my hair ! I threw on a little makeup and shoveled some of the driveway while I waited for them to arrive. I didn't get back home until almost 6:30. I had a delicious chicken & biscuit dinner with mashed potatoes and a beer. I also had a hot fudge sundae for dessert. I made the mistake of shoveling more snow when I got home and ended up falling in the driveway ! That really scared me as I wasn't sure I'd be able to get up. I wasn't hurt and I did manage to get up, but it shook me up. I really need to be more careful. I spent the remainder of the evening watching YouTube and playing slots.

I got up about 8 today so clear skies ! This was a welcome change from yesterday's on and off heavy snow showers. There is snow in the forecast around 10 pm tonight AND we have yet another winter storm warning from 7 pm tonight through 6 am tomorrow ! They're saying 4-8 inches is possible. I'm just going to enjoy today's 32 degrees and sunshine. It's almost 11:30 am and Minnie is laying on the kitchen rug basking in the sun shining through the kitchen window. We live for the sun these days ! After breakfast I ran through all my slot games and lost every single coin ! I installed another game and lost all those coins too. Now I have 5 slot games and they all follow the same pattern. They let you win for a while to hook you, then they take everything away in hopes you will buy coins. Nope. Never going to happen ! I will say it again: I will NEVER, EVER buy coins for online games. Not ever ! I go through cycles of playing these games and chasing free coins and when I'm tired of that I uninstall them for a while.

Breakfast today was 180 calorie waffles with sugar free syrup. I got a yogurt out but again I never ate it. Lunch was something different: tuna fish in pocket bread ! I had 2 cans of tuna with a "best by" date of February 2024, so I wanted to use them up. I also had the pocket bread in the freezer and it's been there since August ! The tuna was a nice change and I ate both cans and all 4 pieces of pocket bread, which was 360 calories total. I'm not sure of the calories in the tuna and mayo and since I ate it all, it doesn't really matter ! I toasted the pocket bread since they were a little moist from being in a plastic bag.

I gathered up the trash and got that ready to put out this evening. I was going to add some lettuce to my tuna sandwiches but I discovered what appears to be "pink mold" inside the bag. This is probably because I had washed the lettuce and put it in the bag with paper towels. I googled it and this is what google had to say: Serratia marcescens is an airborne bacterium or mold that grows in the dampest places in your home, like shower stalls, bathtubs, bathroom tiles, toilets, sinks, toothbrush holders, and kitchen faucets. It is a natural bacteria that gets stirred up in the air, lands in wet areas, and starts building colonies of pink slime in your bathtub or somewhere worse.  I don't usually wash lettuce but this particular head had some dirt on it. I guess I won't do that again !

Weather is continuing to call for snow over the next few days but nothing drastic. I'm hoping it'll be nice enough on Wednesday for me to go to rock & roll bingo. It might be the last time in a while since Kim & Joe leave for Florida on 2-6. At least we'll be closer to Spring by the time they get back !

I spent the morning today playing slots until all my coins were gone. I hopped on the laptop to certify my unemployment claim and checked in on the Facebook slot games.
