Day 118 & 119: Goodbye April, Hello May !
Time for a new mission statement. My goal for 2025 was to lose 100 pounds by 12-31-25 but I've failed miserably. At some point I need to pick myself up and try. A realistic goal at this point is 50 pounds by 12-31-25, so that is where I will start. When will I start ? I don't know .. do I need a "starting point" ? I don't. Every day that I don't "start" just adds to my misery. I plan to just take each day as it comes and do what I can to move closer to where I want to be. Life has changed and I haven't been able to adapt just yet.
First, let's catch up ! The severe weather predicted for Tuesday didn't really impact me. We had a few minutes of rain and a bit of wind and that was that ! The worst of it was South and East of me. Wednesday was rock & roll bingo so the day was spent doing my usual YouTube, online slots and getting ready to go out. It was just Kim, Joe & I as Rich and Barb had an unexpected emergency. A tree fell on their RV during the storm Tuesday ! They had to go to camp and take pictures for their insurance. I don't know how bad the damage is but I'm sure they will tell me all about it Saturday as we're going to the ball game ! Bingo was fun but we didn't win. Still, it was a night out and I enjoyed myself. I got home about 10 pm.
That's brings us to today ! I got up shortly after 9 although I was first awake at 7:30. I was just too tired to get up that early. After spending the morning watching YouTube and catching up my slot games I made myself get dressed, put on my shoes, made a protein shake AND got my fat a$$ on the treadmill ! This was only the 3rd workout of the YEAR ! I am so ashamed of that but still proud of myself for finally trying ! I managed to get through 6 minutes of warmup/cool down along with a workout of 13m12s. The next workout in the series is 11m52s and I'm going to try and do that later today. It's 1:27 now, so there is plenty of day left ! The goal is one workout per day, so I'm not going to beat myself up if I only get one in. Anything over zero is progress ! My Fitbit is dead as I haven't been wearing it, but it's charging now so I can start using it. I still need to weigh myself and take a photo. I'll get the photo today and catch my weight at bedtime or first thing tomorrow.
It's a new month and 1/3 of 2025 is already gone ! The goal is to lose 50 pounds by 12-31-25, which is a completely reasonable goal. I won't be buying any more "junk" at the grocery store. No more pretzels, baked goods, candy, hotdogs, pizza etc. I'm going to eat 100% Nutrisystem products, along with the usual items for morning snack (protein shake) and afternoon snack (fruit, cheese, crackers etc.). I will scale back on the whipped cream on my evening snack as well. Having said that, I still have an unopened tub of chocolate covered almonds. Those will keep and can be eaten one or two pieces at a time. I still have a pound of fudge. I can freeze that and eat it over time. I have an unopened package of hash brown potato patties. I can eat those one per serving over time. I also have a big bag of tater tots. I will eat those in small quantities over time as well. I'll also finish the bag of frozen corn. My obsession with that has faded. I have 2 large cans of green beans that will become my dinner veggie. I also have 3 large cucumbers and 2 bags of radishes to start eating. Those will be part of my lunch or they can be snacks if I'm hungry.
So what did I eat today ? Breakfast was a 180 calorie Nutrisystem cinnamon roll. Morning snack was a 155 calorie protein shake. Lunch was the remains of the buffalo chicken wrap I had for dinner last night. Dinner was some tater tots and a Michelob Ultra. I want to get them gone as soon as possible.
Well, I saved myself $200 today by NOT ordering a Samsung Galaxy watch. For once I used some impulse control ! I reminded myself that I really only "need" the basic functions that my Fitbit provides. I don't need all the "smart" features of a Galaxy, like texting, calling etc. I have my phone for all that and I'm not "on the go" to a point where the watch functions would be useful. I always have my phone with me ! So I'm going to stay with the Fitbit and maybe treat myself to a new device. I can get the Fitbit Charge 6 for $120 at Walmart.
Well, it's 3:46 now and I've been busy ! I I tried to log in to the Numi app to start logging what I eat again and it wouldn't work. Turns out the app has been replaced by a new one, so I downloaded that and set it up with my account info. Based on my weight and my goal weight, they recommend I eat 1800 calories. That seems like a lot so I'm not going to try and force myself to eat that much. I'm also not going to worry about being at 1200 or less. Tomorrow will be the first full day on Nutrisystem food, so I'll see where my calories land without being hungry. Once I was done fiddling with my phone I got off my butt and cleaned the litter boxes, swept the floor and vacuumed in the laundry room. I also put the reusable shopping bags in the car and restocked the canned food for the strays and Minnie. The laundry room looks SO nice now ! It's amazing how much you can get done in a short time. I also cleaned Minnie's water fountain and got that back in service. Once all that was done I warmed up my leftovers from last night and had that for lunch/snack. I also checked in on my bank account and my credit card account. I've spent a lot in the last month so I need to be a little more careful ! The rest of the day is in front of me and I am happy with the progress I've made today.
My Fitbit was done charging so I've got that on again. I use it just to keep track of steps and my heart rate. It keeps track of my sleep but I don't pay much attention to that. I haven't worn it in a while as it was causing a rash. That could have been because I had the band too tight or I wasn't cleaning it enough. Maybe both ! We'll see how it goes now. I'm going to make sure I clean it at least once a week.
Today turned out to be warm and we had some sun this morning. It's cloudy now as some brief rain showers are moving in. It's still 73 outside and I have the front door open and the heat off. Minnie likes to wander around the porch and often sleeps in the lawn chair in the corner, so that's why I leave the door open.
We had a tiny bit of rain but that was it. Barely enough to wet the ground. I did see a forecast for our area and it predicts a hot dry summer. I'm ok with that as long as there is enough moisture for the farmers and people who rely on wells.
I didn't have the energy to get on the treadmill again and I'm ok with that. I burned plenty of calories with the cleaning and decluttering I did today. My clothes have gotten out of control in my office again, so I'm going to work on that tomorrow.
My slot games have been a little disappointing today. Jackpot World is continuing to suck away all my coins and not allowing me to win anything. 88 Fortunes took my 90B coins but a lot of that is MY fault. Dancing Drums is the best when it comes to coins right now but I'm honestly a little bored with the games. They do not add many new ones and when you play multiple times every day it gets old. I do love Jackpot World but it's frustrating when the game is clearly preventing you from winning. I blew a ton of coins on CluBillion too but I have enough to get through the daily challenges. When you go bankrupt on 88 Fortunes it gives you 30M coins at a time to keep you playing as long as you want. I've had to use that plenty of times to get the chest required to complete the daily challenge.
