Day 155 through 157: Lazy Days
Time for a new mission statement. My goal for 2025 was to lose 100 pounds by 12-31-25 but I've failed miserably. At some point I need to pick myself up and try. A realistic goal at this point is 50 pounds by 12-31-25, so that is where I will start. When will I start ? I don't know .. do I need a "starting point" ? I don't. Every day that I don't "start" just adds to my misery. I plan to just take each day as it comes and do what I can to move closer to where I want to be. Life has changed and I haven't been able to adapt just yet.
Not much to catch up on since I last wrote. Friday I went to Walmart and did a pretty good job keeping to smart choices, though I did buy Johnsonville sausages and 2 tubs of Haagen Das ice cream. I wanted to get hot dogs but they didn't have the big packages. I happened to find bread that was 40 calories a slice, so I bought that instead of rolls. To my dismay, the sausages are about half the size they used to be ! I was really, really disappointed and I will never buy them again. They also have a lot less cheese in them. What a waste of money ! No complaints about the ice cream .. lol ! Yesterday I went on a road trip to Churchville NY (outside of Rochester) with Rich & Barb to look at a new camper, since theirs was damaged by a tree and totaled by the insurance company. They loved the camper, which is bigger and more luxurious than their old one. After they looked at it they made arrangements to meet with a sales person at the Clay store of the RV dealer and then we headed to a craft brewery in Rochester to have a brew and some lunch. We ended up at Rohrbach brewery, where we paid $10 for a tour. We were the only ones on the tour, so we felt like VIP's on a private tour ! The tour included 2 samples and a small glass, which is really cute. Rich & I split a wood-fired pepperoni pizza. It was really good but the bottom was "fired" just a bit too much. After lunch to headed to Clay where Rich & Barb closed the deal on their new RV. They'll have it in a couple weeks. I got home around 5:30 which was great as I was tired. As always, I stayed up too late Friday night and my alarm went off at 6 am yesterday.
That brings us to today. I think it was just before 8 when I got up. I've spent much of the day watching YouTube and playing the online slots. I ended up uninstalling 88 Fortunes as I'm tired of constantly having to struggle to get enough coins. It's no fun when all you can do is play enough to complete the challenge and then have to stop so you have enough coins for the next day. What is the point ? I wasn't having any fun and couldn't play the games long enough to be able to enjoy them. So I'm down to Dancing Drums and Jackpot World. I have zero complaints about DD - my coins have been 80B+ for a while and I can play as much as I want. Jackpot World is still a lot of fun but today I couldn't win anything. Well over 2T coins disappeared without my ever getting a bonus game. That is VERY deliberate on the app's part. They want you to buy coins and I will never do that. I work all the angles on the side games to get as many coins as I can and use the free powerups I win to ensure I complete the daily challenge. I also watch all the ads I can to build up my coins. I've been tempted to spend money on these games but I know that if I do it once I will do it again and then before you know it money is flying out the window. It's no different than going to a casino with a set budget .. you always end up leaving broke. For now I'm gathering what coins I can so that I can play tomorrow.
I didn't make it to the treadmill on Thursday and I haven't been on it the past 3 days. I planned on it today, but it's nearly 6 pm now and I'm too tired. I will be up and at it first thing tomorrow ! I think that cutting back on the slots will help me turn my focus to exercise. I tried a couple other slot apps but I just didn't like them. I'm just going to stick with the 2 I have since I really enjoy them both. I started playing Cookie Jam again yesterday while I waited at the RV place. It took a while for them to come to a deal and then do all the paperwork. I sat in the waiting area on a comfy leather sofa with my tablet. So going forward I'll play Cookie Jam when the slots aren't paying. I did manage the clean the litter area today, so I'm happy about that.
When I was out on Friday I picked up the mail and that included my village tax bill. To my surprise, the taxes are the exact same as last year ! It was so nice to not have an increase. I also picked up my Beekman order, so I'm all set with skincare for a while.
