Day 158: A New Week

 




Time for a new mission statement. My goal for 2025 was to lose 100 pounds by 12-31-25 but I've failed miserably. At some point I need to pick myself up and try. A realistic goal at this point is 50 pounds by 12-31-25, so that is where I will start. When will I start ? I don't know .. do I need a "starting point" ? I don't. Every day that I don't "start" just adds to my misery. I plan to just take each day as it comes and do what I can to move closer to where I want to be. Life has changed and I haven't been able to adapt just yet.


It's Monday and I was up before 8:30 today. Fed the cats, had my breakfast and then moved on to YouTube and the online slots. I installed a new game last night (Jackpot Friends) and I'm not yet sure I want to keep it. I tend to compare new slots to Jackpot World and they typically don't measure up. Despite the struggle to earn enough coins to complete challenges I really like JW ! We'll see. The inability to win enough coins to continue playing JW may lead to my deleting the app. I've been playing the same game in the "quest challenge" and it just sucks all my coins away in minutes. I'm playing the "easy" challenge so I'm not sure why this particular game refuses to let me win enough to move on. It's frustrating and it's actually similar to an issue I had with a game on Dancing Drums. This one game would not trigger the bonus. I played for weeks every day and could not get the bonus. I suspect that was a glitch in the game because eventually I got the bonus and now I get it almost anytime I choose to play the game. Dancing Drums itself is the best app for keeping your coins ! I have maintained over 80B for a while and I always play on max bet, which ranges from 6M to almost 24M. 


It's 3:30 pm now and I haven't really done anything all day. That said, I refuse to let this day end without a session on the treadmill.


Just after 4 pm a fast and furious storm moved in. The sky got very dark and I could hear the distant rumble of thunder, but from the radar it appears the worst of the storm was north of me. We had a quick burst of rain and as of 4:34 it's pretty much stopped. More could be coming as I still hear thunder, but the radar indicates the worst of the system has already passed to my north. Power never wavered and that is always a good thing. I'm sure the farmer's appreciated the rain but they need a whole lot more and long gentle showers would be better for their crops. Well, as of 4:55 2 brief bursts of heavy rain have passed. Round 3 just arrived with a little more rain and some distant thunder, but the radar indicates about 90% of the system has passed so it likely won't rain much more.

Day 12: Already Over Winter

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. My original Day 12 blog can be found  here . My original Day 12 was unremarkable as the plumbing issues were resolved and I went to work. I am all for a drama free day ! I woke up just before 9 and it's a chilly but snow free day ! It was 20 when I got up and the high for the day is only 25. At least it is not snowing ! There were no stray cats again today, so I just replenished the dry food. I can see they've been eating it, so hopefully it is sustaining them through this weather. Breakfast was 180 calorie Eggo waffles with sugar free syrup. I didn't have a yogurt, morning snack or afternoon snack. Lunch was pizza. Calories unknown and tomorrow will be the final slice ! Day 181 to 197: Avoiding The Subject

Life has changed and I haven't been able to adapt just yet. Today is July 8th and I haven't written since July 1st. As if not writing is going to make a difference ! So what's been going on ? Not much. Spent July 4 at Rich & Barb's camp. It was a fun day. I spent Saturday, Sunday and Monday sitting on my ass watching tv and playing the slots.
