Day 28: This Is It !

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. My original Day 28 blog can be found  here . Despite all my hopes, I haven't put in the effort to have any success with weight loss and exercise .. yet. I gave myself until February 1 and that is tomorrow. Can I get back on track tomorrow ? We'll see. I was awake early today and had to get up because nature was calling. There was no point in trying to go back to bed as that never works. I figured if I got tired I could take a nap. I haven't been up before 7:30 am in a while ! In a surprise, my little white/gray mama cat was waiting to eat. She meowed so pitifully. I would take her in but she is so feral I can't even pet her. Day 25, 26 & 27: Catching Up !

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. I'll say it again: I don't know, maybe I'm just jealous of the positive attitude I had back then. I read these old blogs and feel like it's all BS. Maybe *I* am the problem ?!?!?! Being stuck in the house because of the cold and snow is definitely NOT helping ! It's been a bit since I wrote so I'll recap Tuesday and Wednesday here. Tuesday was trash day and I put the bin out around 10:30 and by 11 I was bringing the empty bin back in ! They usually hit my street in the afternoon, so I got lucky ! Day 23 & 24: Hello Sunshine !

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. I didn't write yesterday because I spent all morning playing slot games and watching YouTube. Then, Barb texted me just before 2 pm to ask if I wanted to go to Lowville with them for chicken & biscuits. I jumped at the chance and I'm so glad I was dressed and had already combed out my hair ! Day 21 & 22: It Just Keeps On Coming !

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. I look back at that now and I can see how fake it was. I wonder if anyone else saw through it ? Even now I keep saying I'll be ok and I think I'm just trying to convince myself that it's true ! I didn't write yesterday but there's no reason behind it. Some days I'm just not inspired or I wait until too late in the day and I'm too tired. We had some snow Thursday night so I went outside around 10 am to shovel outside the garage and side door. A minute or two after I started Doug showed up to plow. Talk about perfect timing ! Day 20: A Brief Respite

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. My original Day 20 blog can be found  here . I was back to work and yet again projecting "everything is ok". It really wasn't, so yet again I will say I'm grateful I had another 5 years to get my life together ! I was awake just after 9 today. It was nice not to wake up feeling the house was too cold and worrying about the heat working. For a change, the temp increased overnight instead of falling like a rock ! It was 64 upstairs and 68 downstairs when I got up. I didn't check the thermostat in the laundry room but I'm sure it was below 68. I didn't have to avoid using the kitchen water first thing but I've left the cabinets open to keep that area warm. The low's are going to continue in the teens or low 20's for the next week. Next Thursday is showing a low of 9 but that ca...

Day 19: Baby It's Cold Outside !

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. My original Day 19 blog can be found  here . The day started off with no heat so I had to take another vacation day. Turns out the air intake for the boiler was clogged with snow and ice. I was able to fix it myself and get the boiler restarted, so I was proud of that. I don't have to worry about that anymore as the guy who's worked on my boiler the last couple of times said the intake pipe was too small and he cut it off inside the basement. So the boiler draws air from inside the basement and will never clog. Considering all the snow we've had this year, I'm glad for that ! My phone said it was 2 degrees when I woke up shortly after 9 am but the outdoor thermometer read 14. In spite of that it was 61 upstairs. The dining room was at 65 and the laundry room was at 58. Day 18: So Over Winter

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. My original Day 18 blog can be found  here . It was MLK day and I was at home. I'm not sure if it was a company holiday or if I opted to take the day off. More than likely it was a holiday. It was about 7 degrees when I got up this morning. Just like yesterday, I had left the cabinet doors open under the sink and I did not use the kitchen faucet. I used the water in the laundry room to warm up Minnie's food and wash my hands. It was so cold I didn't even put out dry food for the strays, mostly because they haven't been there for several weeks. To my surprise, when I did go out to fill up the dry food 2 of the strays were there ! It was the older orange & white guy and the white female ! I quick grabbed a can of food and warmed it in the microwave for them. They ate every bite and probably had som...

Day 16 & 17: Snow Fatigue

My original Day 16 and 17 blogs can be found  here  and here . It was the weekend and I documented what I was eating. There was no musing or mental gymnastics. I didn't write anything yesterday. I spent the whole day on the couch wringing my hands about whether or not I should go to Walmart. There were 2 things holding me back. Well, maybe 3. #1 anxiety over getting the car out of the garage. #2 it was cold, only in the teens. #3 I didn't really "need" anything. So let's talk about #1. I haven't got the car "stuck" in the driveway in well over 10 years AND I shoveled the other day to widen the top so there would be ample room for the car. As for #2, the older I get the more the cold bothers me. The mild winters we've had for the past few years have spoiled me ! Now, number 3 i...

Day 15: End of Week 2

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. My original Day 15 blog can be found  here . My original Day 15 was upsetting as I started the day thinking I lost no weight and then heard of a horrible tragedy in a colleague's family. That gave me some perspective on what I thought were my "problems". Turns out I did lose 3 pounds during week 2, so I ended the day on a better note. I was awake just after 8 today and got up only because I had to pee ! After a cup of coffee and my breakfast I decided to get dressed and go to the post office. I wanted to walk because it's a nice day (temp over 30 !) and because I need the exercise ! I thought about driving and going to Walmart, but a quick look out to the driveway nixed that idea. A roof avalanche left a ton of snow to be shoveled. I figured I'd address it later or wait for Doug to plow. I left...

Day 14: Chugging Along

My original Day 14 blog can be found  here . My original Day 14 was unremarkable. It was just another work day and another day pretending I wasn't scared to death about losing my job. My old blog just sickens me now because so much of it was just fluff about how wonderful life was. I guess it was since I got to keep my job but I really did struggle at times and my blog did not reflect that truth. One thing I've decided to do is use a new cover photo background each month. Time to start looking for one now !  I woke up early but dozed on and off before finally getting up just before 8. I wanted to sleep more but it wasn't going to happen. It was snowing lightly, as predicted and it appears we got an inch or two overnight. There were no strays waiting to eat but I filled the dry food anyway. I got dressed ...
