Day 56: A Ray of Sun

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? At this point, probably not but I'm going to keep trying. My original Day 56 blog can found  here . It was a sunny but cold day back then, -4 when I left for work ! It's 27 today, as of 11:41 am, so that's quite a difference. We actually had below zero temps in December and early January this winter, which is unusual. The forecast now is calling for a low of 4 degrees Saturday and Sunday night but it's going to warm up after that. My original day 56 blog didn't have much philosophical drivel to share, thankfully ! It was close to 8 (I think) when I got up today. Mama cat wasn't waiting for me but I saw her on surveillance cameras around 6:30, so she was a little early for breakfast ! Day 55: Another Quiet Day

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? At this point, probably not but I'm going to keep trying. My original Day 55 blog can found  here . The drive to work was fine but it took me nearly 2 hours to get home due to snow. I do not miss those days ! I have to say, the more I read my original blog, the more revolting it is to me. I was projecting this holier than thou attitude about losing the weight. I'm sure anyone who was struggling with their weight at the time just hated me. I know I would have ! I was awake several times before I finally got up today. I slept a little later than usual but I was still out of bed before 8 ! Mama cat and friendly orange cat were waiting for me, so I'm glad I didn't linger in bed any longer. Minnie was still snoozing but she came alive when her breakfast arrived. I spent the day watching YouTube and playing my slot games. Jackpot World again ...

Day 54: Rough Start

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? At this point, probably not but I'm going to keep trying. My original Day 54 blog can found  here . It was an uneventful day. Weather had improved so I went to work. I was still struggling with a lingering cold, so I wasn't using the treadmill. Knock on wood, I haven't been sick this winter ! I didn't go to bed until after 11:30 last night, so it was a little bit of a struggle to get out of bed at 8 am today. Of course, I had an interview scheduled for 10 am, so I stay up late .. what an idiot ! Well, turns out it didn't matter as my old laptop had some display issues so I restarted it a couple times. That pulled me right into a Windows update that didn't finish until after 10. I also didn't have any details of the meeting in the invite when viewed in my email on my phone. I could see them in Outlook on my laptop. I ended up...

Day 53: A Quiet Tuesday

My original Day 53 blog can found  here . It was a Monday but I took yet another vacation day due to weather. High winds, heavy blowing snow, a travel advisory AND the power went out for 2 hours ! That meant no heat but me and the cats survived ! I'm glad this the same day 6 years later has brought a high temp of 43 and some light rain. The forecast for the next week has changed and there is little snow in the forecast. This makes me SO happy ! I can see upper 40's coming and that gives me hope that the winter storms might just be over. God willing ! I was awake just after 7 today and I'm glad I've been getting up relatively early, since I may have to start getting up early every day ! Day 51 & 52: A Light at The End of The Tunnel ?

I didn't write yesterday mostly because I was out most of the day. Rich texted me about 10:30 that they were going to Aldi's and the restaurant we like in Lowville. Of course I jumped at the chance to get out of the house ! They picked me up just before 12:30 and I got home about 5:30. Before I knew I was going out I had texted Doug to see if he could clear my driveway as an avalanche of snow had come down during the night. He came right over and was still hard at work when Rich picked me up. He once again cleared all the snow along the side of the house. Day 46 through 50: Still Struggling

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? At this point, probably not but I'm going to keep trying. One advantage to being stuck in the house is I haven't been sick this winter ! The snow has finally let up but we haven't had any warm weather that would start the melting process ... and there is snow is the forecast almost every day ! Temps are supposed to be above freezing for the week ahead, so the snow will likely pack down and melt a little bit. I haven't been out of the house since February 11, other than going out to the driveway to shovel snow here and there. It's 1:57 pm now and I just took a shower, washed my hair and did my skincare. Day 42 through 45: Really Struggling

Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? At this point, probably not but I'm going to keep trying. My original Day 42, 43, 44 and 45 blogs can be found  here , here , here and here . Day 42 was a vacation day as we had a blizzard overnight. Day 43 was an uneventful work day. Day 44 was a weigh in and I only lost 1.4 pounds and was disappointed. Day 45 was a Sunday and it was uneventful. So where have I been ? Sitting on the couch feeling sorry for myself ! The snow and cold weather has been relentless and I just let anxiety and cabin fever get the best of me. Day 42 was Valentine's Day and for me it was just another day. Day 43 was Saturday, Day 44 was Sunday and today is Monday, Day 45. I spent the last 4 days on the couch watching YouTube and playing my online slots. Day 41: Down But Never Out

I was awake just after 6 today, probably because of the plow or the machine they use to clear the sidewalks. As much as I wanted to go back to sleep, I decided to get up and start my day. I'm glad I did as mama cat was out there waiting to eat. Poor thing was wet as it was raining. The orange male was out there too, so I fed them both. He was mounting her for some reason. She's already clearly pregnant, so I'm not sure what is up with that. Google says it's just him picking up on her hormones. Day 40: A Day From Hell

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? At this point, probably not but I'm going to keep trying. My original Day 40 blog can be found  here . I had taken a vacation day due to an impending snow storm. Hmm, that sword is hanging over my head again right now ! We have a winter weather advisory from 4 pm today through 4 am tomorrow. Friday looks to be snow-free but there is a chance of snow Saturday through Tuesday. We're also looking at single digit overnight lows Monday and Tuesday.  Apparently winter is never going to relent ! Breakfast was 180 calorie Eggo waffles. I didn't have a yogurt or morning snack. Lunch was a 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt. I didn't have an afternoon snack. Dinner was a pizza, calories beyond what I should have. Evening snack will be cherry pie and possibly some ice cream. Day 39: No Snow Today !

My original Day 39 blog can be found  here . It was an unremarkable day at work. Today I was awake just after 7. I seem to wake up at 7:17 am a lot. I wonder why that is ? I got up around 7:30 and trudged downstairs to face another day being surrounded by snow. Fortunately there was no new accumulation to deal with, for a change. However, I noticed the snow piled against my dining room windows was really pushing in on the screens. I opened the windows and pushed the screens up so they don't get destroyed. The one in the living room and by the basement were already up. I guess pushing the screens up will now be part of my winter task list ! I spent the morning watching YouTube and catching up my online slot games. All of a sudden they are all letting me win so I can't spend as much ti...

Day 37 & 38: No End In Sight

  Here we go ! It's a new year. Time to get back on track with diet and exercise. The goal is 100 pounds by 12-31-25. Can I do it ? Well, I won't know unless I try. My original Day 37 & 38 blogs can be found  here  and  here . Day 37 I tried to use the treadmill for the first time but couldn't figure it out. Day 38 (6 years ago today!) I figured it out and completed my first workout ! My only goal for today is snow removal, but I may make an extra effort to get on the treadmill. More on the snow in the next few paragraphs. So to catch up, I didn't write yesterday. I spent the entire day on the couch playing online slots and watching YouTube. I did get a shower in at 4 pm, but despite my best intentions I never got dressed or went near the treadmill. It snowed on and off all day and I am SO over it. I feel like I am literally being buried alive, as the snow is up to my windows and beyond ! This is only because what slides off the roof naturally piles up along the ...
